This 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Cherry Sunburst finish is still in very good condition for its age. Yes, it does show signs of use and you can see the genuine wear on the back of the neck and the patina on the hardware from where it has been played for many years. Overall it still presents nicely and the age related wear only adds to the vintage vibes. The frets are low, they have been previously levelled but still playable. Depending how heavy handed you are, at some point in the future you may want to get them done. We have given it a set up and it plays well. The body has the dinks, buckle rash, scratches and scrapes but certainly nothing major that impacts on the playability. The back of the neck is in excellent condition with very few marks, just the worn finish we previously mentioned. This guitar has a lot of mojo that is for sure!
We have dated the pots '78, mounting plate April '79 and the pickups '78. The tail piece has been replaced at some point and the original is no longer with the guitar.
We've given it a full set up and healthcheck in our workshop with fresh set of DR Vertias 10-46 and it's now ready to find a new home. Includes a non original but great quality Hiscox hardcase.
