This Pre Owned Gibson 1965 Firebird III Non Reverse Headstock is in excellent all original condition. We are amazed at how nicely this guitar has been kept over the years. As you can see in our photo's it presents well and still has all the vibe you want from a vintage guitar. The close up lacquer checking, nicely aged hardware and the odd area of wear and tear that tells some stories.
The pots are dated '65. It has the original pickups, switch, hardware including the tuners. As is to be expected on something that has been kept in original shape there is one thing to note. The pickup selector can be a little temperamental. It does function but is iffy. If you are buying this to play, maybe a replacement would be the way to go. Having said that, it is only original once and we have chosen to leave it be. The scratchplate is cracked in one corner and a few buldges from shrinkage but once on stays in place.
The neck is in great shape with no major wear, dinks or dents. The frets have certainly been levelled at some point but play nicely with plenty if life in them. No major wear on the fingerboard to report. The body has no big chunks in the finish but does have some general signs of use as is to be expected. Overall a great playing guitar and it is no doubt a very solid investment.
We do have the original case but the handle is broken and in need of some tlc.
We've given it a full set up and healthcheck in our workshop with fresh set of Electro Harmonix 10-46's and it's now ready to find a new home.
