This Pre Owned Martin 1972 D-18 is in very good condition for its age. It does the normal age related cosmetic wear and tear that you would expect on a 50 year old instrument but certainly nothing major to report. Small dinks, scuffs and scratches throughout that we feel only add to the vintage vibes. Most of the wear is on the body with the neck only having light marks.
There is still a good break angle over the saddle. The neck angle is good resulting in an enjoyable playing experience. Current action at 12th fret is 2.7mm. It really does have a classic D-18 tone and is only getting better.
A previous owner has fitted a K & K pure mini (no controls) which is a great choice for a guitar like this. The machine heads have been upgraded (to open gear) and you can tell it has been well maintained over the years. At some point a re-fret was done and they are in very good shape with plenty of life in them. The pickguard has a slight lift near the bridge.
Includes a well fitting functional hardcase from the era.
We've given it a full set up and healthcheck in our workshop with fresh set of Martin MA540's and it's now ready to find a new home.
