Ukulele Tuition

We have been offering tuition since 1988 from our Shirley site teaching 400 students each week and have 100% pass rate with all exam boards.

Our professional tutors cater for complete beginners to professional level players, and can teach any style of playing from rock to jazz to classical to blues.

All our tuition is done on a one to one basis and lessons can be either 30 minutes or 60 minutes long. Whether you're playing for fun or working towards graded examinations your lessons are always tailor made.

All lessons are priced at £32 per hour or £16 per 1/2 hour of one-to-one tuition.

Lessons run Monday to Friday from 2pm till 8pm, and Saturdays 9:00am - 5pm all year round.

Martyn Sline

Guitar, Ukulele

Martyn is one of our most senior and experienced teachers with over 20 years of playing and over 12 years of teaching at Express Music. He specialises in rock and metal and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of guitars and pedals. He has been teaching the Rock School syllabus for the past 10 years and all students have attained a 100% pass rate. Outside of teaching Martyn plays in metal band Arkks with our guitar tech Andy Spillane.

Dominic Kotlarzewski

Guitar, Ukulele and Piano

Dom is a talented multi instrumentalist, he specializes in Guitar and Piano aswell as Ukulele and has over 10 years experience playing both. He recently graduated from Southampton University with a BA in music and is often out gigging with one of his many bands. Dom enjoys playing all styles of music including, soul, funk, metal and Jazz.

Dan Tovey

Guitar, Ukuele and Banjo

Dan has been with us for a number of years now and is one of our most experienced guitar teachers; aside from guitar he can teach ukulele and banjo. Outside of teaching he plays in numerous bands and regularly tours the UK and abroad.
