The 714ce Grand Auditorium body shape is a favoured by players across genres who perform both fingerstyle and flatpicking. The balance between body size, tonal versatility and output power is finely executed. The body back and sides are crafted using Indian rosewood and produces an enriched midrange energy that doesn't hold back on flavour. Paired with this is a Lutz spruce top, which provides an exquisite soundboard that delivers rich clarity throughout each and every note.
V-CLASS BRACING PATTERN
Taylor's revolutionary V-Class bracing pattern is an evolution in guitar soundboard design, which gives the 714ce increased flexibility and stiffness. The result is improved resonance for sublime projection, whilst power is assured for a full-bodied output. The superior stiffness through the middle of the soundboard maintains string motion for improved sustain. Another benefit afforded by the unique V-Class bracing pattern is exceptional intonation, so that whether you're fretting chords near the nut or the bridge, every note sounds pitch perfect.
Connected to the body via a scarf joint is a sturdy tropical mahogany neck, which is shaped with comfort and flexibility at the fore. Treated to a satin finish, your hand can glide along without stickiness impeding its movement. Paired with the neck is a luxurious West African ebony fingerboard, which is adorned with abalone reflection inlays to guide your way in style. West African ebony binding and edge treatment ensures smooth transitions between each and every fret. The elegantly shaped Venetian cutaway makes it comfortable and easy to reach every fret.
EXPRESSION SYSTEM 2 ELECTRONICS
Taylor's exclusive Expression System 2 pickup is fitted in the 714ce to give you unparalleled amplification. The ES2 pickup features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors that faithfully transmit the natural tones of the 714ce through recording equipment or an amplifier. Taylor have patented this behind-the-saddle design and it is one which captures all the tones on offer from the 714ce.
The gloss body finish protects the beautiful Natural finish, allowing it to age gracefully. Non-figured Koa binding trims the top, whilst a Douglas fir/maple rosette encircles the soundhole. The micarta saddle features West African ebony dot bridge pins that complement the weathered brown pickguard. The headstock is fitted with Taylor nickel tuners, which uphold tuning integrity dutifully throughout each and every performance.
